SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob SquarePants is a yellow sponge who wears square pants, thus the name. He lives in a pineapple at 124 Conch Street with his pet snail, Gary, in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. He loves his job as a fry cook at The Krusty Krab, where the specialty is Krabby Patties, and is very good at his job. He has won employee of the month more than 300 times. While at work his uniform includes a tall, white hat with a small blue anchor. SpongeBob is not particularly bright and tends to annoy those around him, particularly his next door neighbor and coworker, Squidward Tentacles. The residents of Bikini Bottom once held a "National No SpongeBob Day," which SpongeBob misinterpreted as an honor, even thought they burned him in effigy. SpongeBob is goofy and fun-loving. He is also very determined and can become fixated on a task. His confidence does not match his ability; he is much more of the former than the latter. He is kind, gullible and easily frightened. He is easily manipulated by Squidward, Mr. Krabs and Plankton, in his many disguises. When he is frustrated SpongeBob can be sarcastic and rude. His best friends are Patrick Star, who lives under a rock, and a squirrel from Texas named Sandy Cheeks, who wears a suit and helmet to survive underwater. Spongebob is a rarely-depressed and happy sponge who feels no hatred for anybody. He and Patrick fall into many silly adventures that lead to them to trouble. Background: In addition to his squarepants, SpongeBob also wears ankle socks, shiny black leather shoes and a short-sleeved white shirt and red tie -- all of which are referred to as his pants. He has blue eyes with three eyelashes on each one, and bright blue eyes and two big buck teeth. He is 4 inches tall. He occasionally strips down to nothing. Although he is a sea sponge, he is shaped like a kitchen sponge. He has failed the test for his Boating License at Mrs. Puff's Boating School every time he has taken it, often nearly killing Mrs. Puff in the process. He is afraid of the dark and clowns. Because he is a boneless sponge, he is capable of changing shape and absorbing impacts. He can regenerate parts of his body. When he cries, he absorbs his own tears. He is skilled at Demolition Derbies, jellyfishing, and at bubble blowing.

Patrick Star
Patrick Star is SpongeBob SquarePant's best friend and sidekick. He lives next door to SpongeBob at 120 Conch Street, under a rock. Patrick is dim-witted and dumb, although he occasionally surprises everyone with flashes of brilliance. He has a bad memory and little common sense, but he picks up on animosity better than SpongeBob. He has had many jobs, including a worker at Krusty Krab with SpongeBob, but he owes the owner Mr. Krabs, a lot of money from eating too many Krabby Patties. He has also tried to be an inventor but only came up with things that had already been invented. Background: He is a chubby starfish who does not have a nose and loves ice cream. He wears green board shorts. Has a big sister named Sam Star. His parents are Herb and Margie Star. Gary the Snail is his cousin and Sluggo is his uncle. He wears underwear to sleep. He is freakishly strong and can lift the rock he lives under. He is also an excellent driver. His arms regenerate and when he thinks, his brain emits stinky steam.

Squidward Tentacles
Squidward Tentacles is SpongeBob SquarePants' next door neighbor and coworker at the Krusty Krab. His house in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom is shaped like an Easter Island head. He used to have a garden until one day a pineapple fell on him and destroyed it and SpongeBob moved into the fruit. Squidward hates his job as a cashier at the Krusty Krab and is annoyed by everything about SpongeBob, including that he likes his job. Squidward is selfish and thinks he's better than everyone else. He is incredibly vain and owns more than 500 self-portraits. Squidward is always in a bad mood and has a quick temper. He is the best-educated of the characters on the show and tends to look down upon others as uncivilized idiots. He fancies himself an esthete, but really has no taste or talent, particularly at his two main interests: painting and clarinet. He often gets blamed for SpongeBob's shenanigans. Background: Squidward is a light turquoise octopus and, despite his name, he only has six legs. He walks on four of them and his suction cups make a noise when he walks. He wears a brown polo shirt and no pants. Squidward is a patron of the arts but does not possess any talent for them. Along with disliking SpongeBob, he also dislikes his pet Gary the Snail. His archrival is Squilliam Fancyson, an octopus whom he met in high school band who excels where Squidward fails.

Mr. Krabs
Eugene Harold Krabs is red sea crab who owns the Krusty Krab, a fast food restaurant where both SpongeBob SquarePants and Squidward Tentacles work. He is greedy and fixates on money, often without regard to his safety or that of those around him. He'll risk a limb going after small change. He has even gone so far as to counterfeit it. SpongeBob, who works as a fry cook, views Mr. Krabs as a father figure, but Squidward hates him. Mr. Krabs is a terrible boss, sometimes paying his employees with fake money, forcing them to work 24 hour shifts and occasionally imprisoning customers in his restaurant. His nemesis and business rival is Sheldon J. Plankton, his former childhood friend who attempts to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula from him for his restaurant, the Chum Bucket. Background: Mr. Krabs' head is made up of his mouth and tall eyes that extend above his shell. He wears a blue shirt and blue pants with a belt and doesn't have feet. He is very strong. His birthday is November 30, 1942. He lives in an anchor at 3541 Anchor Way, Bikini Bottom, with his pet worm Mr. Doodles. His daughter Pearl is a sperm whale, although how this is possible is never explained. His parents are Victor and Betsy Krabs. His grandfather is Grandpa Redbeard. He is a veteren of the Navy, where he was known as Armor Abs Krabs. He talks like a pirate and is often accompanied with seafaring music.
